Alternanthera White in 4 inch Nursery bag

Appearance

• Foliage:The plant features compact, rounded, and slightly wrinkled leaves. The leaves have a satin-like appearance with clearly defined white and green sections.
• Flowers:It produces small, white, spike-like flowers that are relatively inconspicuous compared to the decorative foliage.
• Growth habit:This variety has a low-growing, sprawling, or compact habit, making it an excellent groundcover or border plant.

Care and cultivation

• Light:For the most vibrant foliage, grow ‘White Carpet’ in full sun. However, it will tolerate partial shade. In extremely hot summers, full sun can cause the leaves to bleach.
• Soil:This plant prefers moist, organically rich, and well-draining soil.
• Watering:It requires regular watering but is drought-tolerant once established.
• Pruning:Pinching back the stems will encourage a bushier and more compact growth habit.
• Propagation:It can be grown from seeds or propagated from tip cuttings.

Uses in the garden

• Ornamental groundcover:With its compact and colorful foliage, ‘White Carpet’ creates a visually appealing groundcover.
• Container gardening:It is a versatile choice for mixed containers, adding beautiful texture and contrast.
• Indoor plant:It can also be grown indoors as a houseplant.
• Landscape:Use it in border or edge gardens to provide an interesting visual contrast to plants with solid green leaves.
