New Zealand flax ‘Rubra Nana’ Purple – Hardy plant

Green all year round. The New Zealand flax ‘Rubra Nana’ (Phormium) is attractive all year round. The oblong leaves create an exotic feel in our garden. We are mad about the ‘Rubra Nana’ because it’s so easy to take care of. And heat and drought-resistant. We can plant this plant all year round, provided temperatures don’t go below freezing. The plant blooms with lovely flowers in the summer months.
The plant does not require pruning. Just cut away the dead leaves. Place the plant so that is in partial shade. The plant grows best in slightly moist but well-drained soil. It’s best to give them extra water during dry periods.
